Ghostwerks Comics

Pride and Joy. Ghostwerks Comics is a company founded by myself and four friends from the University of North Texas. Through ghostwerks I achieved a lifelong goal- not only creating, but self publishing and promoting my own comics. The books we've produced have easily been the most work I've ever done in my life, but they're worth every bead of sweat.

The five ghosts are Mario Cauley, Corance Davis, Michael Lagocki, Samax Randolph, and Khalid Robertson.

So what is ghetto manga?
The term "ghetto manga", coined by CBLDF director Greg Thompson, was used to describe the way ghostwerks combines the attitude of hip hop culture and the insanity of Japanese action comics. The joy of owning what you do is that you get to make choices that are completely dependent on what you love, and true to form the ghostwerks books are filled with all kinds of inside jokes, personal references, and reflections what we truly love.

Our publications
To date ghostwerks has published the following series:

Champion of Children
Adult superheros handle adult problems, but who do you call when recess is threatened? You call the Champ. There is always a Champion of Children, a child superhero with amazing powers that holds the honor between ages 5 and 9 and defends school children everywhere.  The newest Champ is a five year old girl named Little Madd Skillz, baby sister of former Champion of Children Jr. Raw. The first two issues follow the early adventures of Maddy as she learns to be a hero, and chronicles the lives of her group of superpowered kindergarten friends.

GhostwerksComics
I love this book. 48 pages of pure love for comics. GWC is our anthology comic, with 5 original stories. This book features the very first published appearance of my character Toho the Pacifist (whose story you can read on the comics page). This book was a joy to put together and really reflects all of ghostwerks' styles and tastes. Among the best experiences of my life was premireing this book to a very receptive audience at the San Diego Comic Con.
